Why NOT for Allah (SWT)?
How many of us actually consciously think about the state in which we face Allah (SWT) when we perform our daily prayer? When I say state, I particular refer to:

Today there was partial Solar eclipse all over Europe beween about 1045 and 1233 hours. By Islamic law, it is required that if the town you live in has:
I have been attending congregation prayer at Mosque and have observed that people can and should squeeze in alittle more to accomodate others. The idea as far as I know is that we should be praying shoulder to shoulder, and as close as possible, but still allowing room for each other to comfortably recite the prayer.
This Friday the 31st of March 2006 - I am in a situation where I have to miss Friday Jumaah Prayer because I have to go in to the office for a meeting. Unfortunately, it is the last day of one of my colleagues - and I am his manager so I have to go in and get the paper work completed and obtain the company assets from him. I tried my best to convince my boss that we should schedule this for Monday, but it turns out that he is going to Scotland and doing this next week is not an option.
Last night the clocks changed and moved forward an hour. We have a jamaat directory that lists the prayer times for the year 2006 which I look at regularly to ensure I am praying on time. I assumed (wrongly) that the directory would have taken this time change into account and found myself at Mosque for Maghrib and Isha prayers an hour early.
I have been approached by 3 individuals within a span of a week asking me to consider teaching in Madrasah. To be honest, I have thought about it before, but did not take any action towards doing so. It seems as though teachers are required and considering I do not work on Saturdays, it would be a fantastic opportunity for me because it will allow me to:
I have been attending mosque on Thursday nights as well as Friday afternoons consistently for the past month and a half. I have noticed that I “enjoy” performing my prayer in congregation so much more that performing it alone at home. Its no wonder Allah (SWT) has added bounties for those who pray in congregation - and as the number of people in the congregation grows, the bounties also grow.
Being Friday today, I went for Jumaah prayers - During the prayer, unfortunately, a mobile phone went off - and it was not on vibrate - it was actually ringing - a fairly musical tone - might I add. No doubt it disturbed the concentration of several people performing their Salah including the Imam leading. It did for a moment disrupt my concertration too.
Firstly, before I give a detailed log on how the day went, and my take on it, I would like to Thank Allah (SWT) for giving me the opportunity to attend and participate in this procession. Secondly, I would like to thank the organisers of the event in London for all their hard work and dedication to ensuring that the event was a success. Finally, I would like to thank HY and Abbas Manji who arranged, organised and more so enabled all of us to attend this important procession marking its 25th anniversary.
A few weeks back, I was thinking, I have a cousin sister who lives in the same town as I do, but I do not keep in touch or meet her at all. I began wondering how she was doing, how her children are doing etc.
Today, 6 men, who were participating in a Drugs trial - are serious ill due to unknown effects of the drugs trial and have been admited to Intesive Care at Northwick Park hospital in London.
There is an Arbaeen Procession to commemorate the martydom of Imam Husayn (AS). It is going to be held on Sunday 19th March 2006 @ 12:30pm in London.
A few weeks back, I had a small reunion with my friends of high school (most, but one were non-muslim) and we had decided to go for a meal to Nandos. Now, as most of you know, depends which Nandos you go to, they serve halal chicken, but all of them serve alcohol. So the one we went to due to my request, served halal chicken.
The significance of praying 5 times a days cannot be underestimated. A powerful example I have heard over and over again goes as follows:
Imagine you take a bath 5 times a day. Would your physical body every be dirty? The answer is No! Well, praying 5 times a day is much like that, except that you are cleansing your spirituality every single time you pray to Allah (SWT)
An opportunity has come up to go to Ziarat to Shaam in Syria where we have the shrines of Bibi Zainab (A.S), and Bibi Sakina (A.S) - Sister and Daughter of Imam Husayn (A.S).As part of my pledge to be a better muslim, it is important for me to learn about these great ladies and what they were all about. As far as my memory goes back, all I really know is that these ladies are the sister and daugther of Imam Husayn (A.S) but thats all. I learn alot about them when I went to madrasah, but I have forgotten too much.
Its been a while since I blogged due to being abit busy and abit lazy but I thought its time i keep my blog up to date.
