Its my birthday today. Im not much of a believer in celebrating birthdays as such, but it sure is a nice feeling to be wished happy birthday by family and friends and be given hugs. Being my birthday today, im not particularly happy right now. There has been much going on in my life that seems to be taking me right down…a feeling I cannot explain. What I do know however, is that Allah (SWT) is with me all the way and that whatever is happening is happening for a reason (perhaps later on I will find out). Anyways, I am one year older, and perhaps wiser (or not?). What is most important is to realise and reflect on what it is that I have done in the last year in the way of Allah (SWT).

Being the 13th of Rajab today, and as I had detailed in my “Allah’s (SWT) Month: Blessings of Month of Rajab” post I had decided that I wanted to Fast today. With this intention I woke up this morning dedicated to the fact that today im fasting. Unfortunately, I fasted till about 1230 but just could not concerntrate on work, or anything else. Ive had tonnes on my mind lately, so I thought if I focused on fasting for the pleasure of Allah (SWT) I would feel better. But I broke down…I had to break the fast before Zohr.

I am sad that I have write about this post. So very sad. Atrocities in Lebanon and the innocent civilians being massacared by the Israeli’s has affected many people in several different ways. It has left people confused, annoyed and most of all sadened by these acts of mass murder with nil justification.
