Importance of Friday in Islam
Islam accords great importance to Friday. While all days of the week belong to Allah, Friday stands out for its significance.

I have invited 12 people or so to my house for iftar today. I see this as a priviledge to be able to serve my guests, and provide then with food and drink to break their fast. I have never ever done this before because I never was so involved in my religion before…plus I did not have the facility to do so.
I did not get a chance yesterday to blog on day three separately, so I decided to combine day four as well. Ramadhan continues to go well in terms of fasting, its amazing how I had thought that I will find it difficult to do - but my Allah (SWT) makes it very easy for me.
Today was the second fast. Mashallah, it went very well interms of keeping away from food and drink - but was feeling abit more tired today. Nevertheless, no complains at all. Allah (SWT) is too amazing… when someone fasts because they want to - and because they know it will please Allah (SWT), He makes it so so easy for them. I remember when I used to fast because I had to - the fasts used to be so hard, and I used to count down hours before I could break my fast….not any more for now.
The holy month of Ramadhan is here. It is the first time I have been looking forward to this month I have not thought of it as a being a difficult task to fast because I feel I have come a long way im striving towards Allah (SWT) and what he has asked us to do in His way. What a small sacrifice He asks us to do - and most people think - its a difficult thing. Looking around at everything that Allah (SWT) has provided for us all year around - is this not the least we can do to show our appreciation? I think so…whats interesting however, is that what He has asked us to do is only for our own good and benefits us - making
I found this fantastic prayer that I would like to share with you all. This is a prayer that should be recited everytime before starting work. It is inpiring, thought provoking and full of blessings
On the 15th of Shaaban, the brith date of our awaited saviour, Imam Mahdi (AS) a conference that was organised in London where top scolars were invited to speak on the subject.
On Saturday, I was teaching at Madrasah. So I was at Mosque and it was time for Zohr Prayer in congregation. Anyways, I prepared and did my Wudhu and while the Adhan was being recited, I decided to pray a 2 rakat prayer. However, what I realised was that I had 2 leather items on me. My belt and my wallet.
For the first time, I attended and participated in an Islamic Camp. Only recently did I even find out that such camps exist - but im glad I did. Several other communities organise such camps and I have heard that they are really good for spiritual upliftment amongst other things such as team building, giving a sense of brotherhood and bring together muslims in the way of Allah in a way that is fun, yet spiritual.
Those who have nothing to do with their lives are the same people who spend most of their time spreading rumours and falsehood, mainly because their minds are devoid of beneficial thoughts.
Today the 7th of September 2006 is a Partial Lunar Eclipse. As all muslims know, when this happens Namaz-e-Ayat becomes Waajib on all muslims. Fortunate for me, the time for this salah was set around 1915 and 2037 and I was back in time from work to recite it.
