Today was Ashura Day. What a Sad Day it was for me and for all the Shia’s in the world. You can read about the tragedy of Ashura here, but I am simply going to detail what we did today as a community, and share my emotions and feelings.
A thought crossed my mind the other day on whether I should go to the Gym in this sad month of Muharram. Usually, I go to the gym in the evenings after work and I was thinking whether I should be going to the gym during this sad month. I came to the conclusion that I should not be going.
It is now the holy month of Muharram 1428 and I wanted to wish the holy Prophet Muhammad (SAW) and every member of his family a sincere and heart felt condoloence for the loss of so many members of his family.

The Shia Leicester Community have indeed realised a dream today. A dream of having a brand new Mosque and Islamic centre that is visioned to cater for the community for atleast the next 20-25 years.
Since my last Spritual Holiday with Allah (SWT) in Ramadhan, which I detailed in my post A Holiday with Allah (SWT) and having spent some time in Mosque praying alone lately, I decided I wanted to do Itikaaf on my own. I will speak to some youth about whether they would like to join me, but if not, I will try and do it myself.
Apart from all the habits listed above, perhaps the one that is sure to help you become a highly successful Muslim youth is that of being consistent. One cannot be truthful one day and a liar the next; one cannot be trustworthy in one instance and totally unreliable in the next; and so on for each of the other habits. A Muslim understands from an early age that it is easier to do something once or whenever we feel like it but much harder to do something regularly and consistently.
